CITY WITHOUT GROUD LEVEL

Design Description

We begin to think what this prototype could be in different scales. In this particular project, we start from simulation cytoskeleton and get a mutual supported growing structure. Then we use this prototype and verify its rationality.

Next, we continue to imagine what significance this prototype bears on the scale of a city. If we transform the structure of independent traditional high-rises into a mutual supported structure, maybe some problems that the functions distribution of modern cities is seriously affected by height will be solved perfectly.

RECRGANIZING THE SHOPPING CENTER

Design Description

Entity shopping centers are losing their competitive. The main reason is that most mall block the daily traffic way. Therefore, I hope to find a kind of architectural form and business model to promote the commercial atmosphere there. First, through building a simulation system by processing the real data, I simulated the different function of shopping malls attracting different age groups in different periods, constructed a new building model by reverse processing according to the division of the custom streamline and derivation of the crowd collection point.

NECEESARY RIYUALS

Design Description

We must ensure the city can run normally without transferring its problems to the village, and we must make the city to be a role again in sustainably affecting the biosphere.

UP ,UP, JUMP 向上,向上,跳跃

Design Description

The characteristic of "one direction" space allows us to think about the essence of subjectivity which space is considered to be, the potential “up” order of space. Up-up—jump is a process, the up in progress, hypothetical up and necessary jump incident, which role and identity the architecture use to take part in this changing story, it inevitably will be bared, disguised and conspiratorial when we have a dialogue with the space.

SEE EMOTION :

Design Description

--- Research on the relationship between sound, emotion, space and events.

Concept, percept, and affect are three parts that informs architecture. Percepts, ways to visualize it, and affects, generated by sensations, desires and emotions t. All three are needed in order to make up architecture.

UNBOUNDED INTERVENTIN

Design Description

The urban centricity makes me to think what kinds of field of this city I facing like. I wonder whether the abandon of the original building is an omen of the productivity decrease of a city, or a process of transiting into a more suitable city for the survive. In this case, I conduct a related experiment for this situation.

THE CITY OF THE SKY

Design Description

Considering the possibility of combining future city and architecture, I transformed two-dimensional urban structure into three dimensional architecture urban structure. It will be independent from existing cities, capable of self-cycling, be self-sufficient, away from existing environment damage and has its own urban structure.

BEIJING WEAVE

Design Description

People, as elementary unit of city, affect events aspect of the urban system. To learn how  people move around the city and how they behave could bring possible solutions about urban diseases.

This data-based project creates a separated level for pedestrians. This new level of city increases efficiency of people movements, enlarges the possibility of communication, and reduces traffic jams. At the same time, second level above the street makes the large amount of wasted negative space of the modern city useful.

THE BATTLE OF THE CITY

Design Description

The expanding of city looks like a battle. The disorder which caused by looting nearby lots for its lack of resources among regions(country) leads to the social atomization of inner area. This is so called battle of the city.

THE DYNAMIC OF RESIDENTIAL AREA

Design Description

The phenomenon of “pendulum traffic” intensified in the process of Beijing’s new city construction, which deteriorated the city’s traffic and resulted in huge vacant and waste phenomenon. I chose the most typical ” sleeping region” of Beijing, Xinlongcheng residential area in Hullongguan, as the sample of research. I collected data of the population and types of architectural space. I did research on population flow of this area on the basis of the Maslow’s hierarchy of need theory, as well as current social background. I hoped to generate referential significance for new city’s construction through the reconstruction of the area.

THE EMBATTLED

Design Description

To what extent can human control natural resources? Assumed the dam was not used to intercept and control the amount of water, but to enclose and control all the water resource, what will a city that heavily relies on water control and hydroelectric power be in the future? All in all, do human beings control nature, or does nature embattle human beings?

FREE SIMPLE LOVE

Design Description

Campus is like a free desert. The world's richest people are in the desert. Their thoughts are very simple and pure. They pursue freedom and love here. Finally, we all exile.

Started from thinking psychology and behavior of specific group, whether or not the rejection, extremes, the emotional characteristics and low IQ of groups will be the premise for establishing a utopian world.

ART FACTORY

Design Description

The location of art villages in Beijing have always been changing and become a phenomenon we call the urban nomadism. Whatever the artists move, they are on the outskirt of Beijing, relatively far from city’s museums and art galleries, which leads to a gap between artists and city’s public.

In this project, each artist owns a capsule that can be freely moved around the site, from living zone to the exhibition hall and the industrial park. This new mode of art gallery aims to fill up the gap between artists and public and lead to a more harmonious relationship between different interest subjects.

THE CHAIN 链条

Design Description

“Freedom” and “recognition”, they are to help the alienated modern people to regain the true meaningful existence.

When people stay in a space, they are meanwhile exposed to a certain environmental nature. These two relevant senses can be considered as “a sense of direction“ and “a sense of identity”. If one wants to have a foothold of existence, he should be capable of determining directions and realizing of where they are. If they hope to find self-identification in an environment, they should be clear about the relation between them and the place. That is to say, the experience of the place serves to offer satisfaction. Therefore, the sense of belonging in essence should combine the full development of these two senses.

THE LAST 最后

Design Description

It has been a long time since human beings abandoned the earth. United nation some platform VI is the only man-made structure left on the near-earth orbit. The last group of people did reconstruction on this space platform, and changed it to the museum of human history.

After countless days and nights of waiting, this lonely structure, with all of the glories and regrets of human beings, finally has a chance to show the path of human civilization to the universe. To prove that we have been here.

10, 39, 68  /  10, 39, 68

Design Description

Based on types, associates, behaviors, events and conflicts, to find from common existing family pattern, the intersection, mutual, blocking process of common different specific space, the difference and order of interval of event.

TOKYO OLYMPIC PERK REPLANNING

Design Description

This project is a rethinking of the role of Tokyo 2020 Olympic stadium in the city as well as the post-games use of the Olympic park。I figure out that building a linkage of the exciting public spaces within the walking range of the site is a better choice. Referring to the hypha algorithm in biology, I simulate the public oriented people flow around the site, and coded the path-finding algorithm. Finally, I solve the conflicts of the different usage of the site during and after the Olympics.

PASS THROUGH A CITY

Design Description

The urban continuity design stresses the understanding of the structural space and streamline space in the controls the pace of spatial development and reduces the blindness and randomness in the change of space, reaching the goal of intergrity and order for space. The elements contained in the streamline space include separation, fractal etc.

COURTYARD MATRIX

Design Description

In many historical and traditional courtyard districts, local residents are renting yards to young artists, small company owners and tourists. New public functions are thriving in the yards. This project focus on the topological transformation of courtyards in order to contain new public functions and use the space logic of a group of yards to generate a multi-function complex. The relationship of traditional yards and streets as well as the different sense of publicity in and out of the yards are maintained in the complex design.
